rooted in RELATIONSHIP.

FOR THE PARTS OF LIFE WE CARRY QUIETLY

meet KRISTIN KONIECZNY

I’m a counsellor (CCC #10006103) and supervisor (CCS) drawn to the ways people heal through relationship — through feeling safe enough to slow down, become more honest with themselves, and no longer carry everything alone.

My work is relational, existential, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming, with particular attention to attachment, emotion, and the body. Together, we make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface — the emotions, relationship patterns, self-doubt, overwhelm, and ways of coping that may have helped you through difficult things but don’t always fit quite as well anymore.

My approach has been shaped by years of postgraduate learning in relational, experiential, somatic, attachment-based, and existential therapies. More than any particular model, though, I’m interested in what helps you feel more understood, connected to yourself, and able to move through life with greater freedom and self-trust.

Much of my early life was shaped by movement, sport, and community. Before completing my MA in Counselling Psychology, I earned a degree in Physical and Health Education and spent many years playing competitive rugby, representing Canada at the U19 and U23 levels. Those experiences continue to shape how I understand pressure, injury, belonging, identity, and the complicated relationship many of us develop between achievement and self-worth.

I often find myself especially drawn to people who have spent much of their lives adapting, masking, over-functioning, or quietly carrying things alone. Many of the people I work with, including neurodivergent clients, aren't simply looking for better ways to cope. They want to understand themselves more deeply, feel more at home in who they are, and build relationships and lives that feel more genuinely their own.

Outside of therapy, I feel most alive when I'm moving, laughing, and being absolutely goofy with my husband and close friends. My ideal day would probably involve driving somewhere along the coast, hiking or camping near the ocean, eating good food around a fire, and ending the day grounded, connected, and very full.
